View selection issues:- weird stuff going on..

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls,Ok last night all was well with the pmdg series of planes but now after coming home from work and firing it up after instaling the virgin blue livery with winglets something weird has happened.I decided to refresh myself and go through v2 of the advanced tutorial download etc and when im in main cockpit view and choose O for the overhead the panel comes up but when i then go to hit either "M" "Z" or "A" to go back to the main panels it dont, it just sits on the overhead. The only way i can get it to go is to close it with a right click or go to the views menu and uncheck the overhead panel tick mark. This is really odd and not least a bit frustrating seeing as it all was fine last night. Any ideas? cause this problem has baffled me..the only things i have done since last night are install the livery as mentioned above and set the open stair keys as ctrl shift E and R respectivley as shown in the v2 tutorial.ive removed the key commands to see if it was something odd with them but its still the same after a fresh re run of the simulator. All i havent done is uninstall the livery, but im not sure if there is more to it than just removing the livery folder?Anyway any info be helpfull as reinstalling it all is not attractive at this time. Only other thing to mention is when i do choose say anything other than the view options mentioned when the overhead is up they work and click back off but the overhead dont, also while the overhead is up and u chooze the landing view it pops up over the overhead.sorry for long post just want to get it all in so i havent left anything i can think of out. Thanks in advance...

Check the PMDG styles menu, in the last category.Make sure you haven't made the overhead undockable.

Ah i set this when i first installed the aircraft again. because i was using 2 monitors. well i unchecked it again and all is well. strange though as it was fine before hand :) thanks matey your a star!!Maybe u can answer this too seeing as your on a roll :( Im following a cold start with v2 tutorial etc and i notice on my overhead panel the Ground power available light is not ON like it should be when u start off either with or without the battery on. ?i press the ground power button but the discharge light etc dont go off..Maybe u can check it out yourself? maybe its an overlooked bug since the new update? thanks again for your time and help, most appreciated..

I give up lol now i done that undock thingy and the overhead switches back and forth, that new issue i asked about the ground power light is now on when i hit the battery switch to on.. Try it out yourselves :) undock the panels via the styles options and leave the overhead on same monitor then turn on the battery from cold start, my ground light dont illuminate :( but does when the styles uncdock option is off..thanks again, its all good fun this stuff huh :(

Hi Moosenoodles(really? :-)),I guess you do know that ground power is only available when your parking brake is on?BR,Frank

Yeah i just worked that out last night when switching things on and off like a maniac lol.. strange thing now is when i do the fire alarm test on the engines i dont get the audible bell no more :( lights work and the annunicator etc but no noise for the bell. Sound for everything else is fine..

Yes, this has happened to me once or twice before, and I've no idea what causes it, or how to get it back(I did get it back though!). You could try recreating your default cold & dark scenario again.BR,Frank
