August 31, 200421 yr firstly, i think i must be dreaming! what a great flight model - to capture the essence, and i am only using a keyboard, having given up the joystick because the response is so smooth. PMDG - kudos!my newbie questions:~ how to disable the Ground Proximity Warning system during autoland it keeps going off driving me crazy! %-)~ during takeoff roll, i have everything setup correctly (per T.Metziger's tutorial) - except i get a loud repetitive klaxon going off, which disappears after i rotate and raise the gear. what am i missing?Thank-you captains!cheers, spiritflareCYYZ
September 1, 200421 yr If you are hearing the klaxon it means something isn't set up properly. Are you sure you have your flaps set at least at 1 for takeoff? Also, you need to sign your name... forum rules. George Morris

Let me check again, maybe i missed something.Any ideas how i can disable the GPWS during autoland..it keeps going off "Too Low Terrain" and drives me mad, all the way down the glidescope. What am i missing?cheers~KarimCYYZ
September 1, 200421 yr "What am i missing?"You need to put the gear down earlier, unless you are over mountain terrain. Then you may just be to low! ;-)Concerning the Klaxon, sound like you may not have the speed brakes in the proper position. FYI: the procedure is different than the Airbus. George Morris
September 2, 200421 yr Yup, speed brakes should not be armed or deployed for takeoff; that will cause the warning. Also, make sure your autobrakes are set, although I'm not sure if not setting them generates the warning.Re: autoland, I never hear GPWS, so something's not right in your landing setup. Auto brakes should be set and spoilers armed. HTH.
