October 2, 200421 yr I recently upgraded to the 737-800/900 series and my speed brakes seem to have lost the armed position that I used to set by pressing shift+ forward slash/ . Now all I get is the down or fully up position and they no longer deploy automatically upon landing. I checked the key assignments and nothing has changed, they simply refuse to goto the armed position that I had in the 737-600/700.
October 2, 200421 yr I have the same problem! to arm them i ahve to open the throttle quadrant and manualy pull the speed brake into the armed position.Daniel
October 2, 200421 yr Hello, This has been discussed many times on this forum. In short, the logic has changed in the new update. You **must arm the speedbrakes by manually placing the lever to the ARM position from the throttle quadrant. Make sure you do not drag it past the correct position as the light will remain on the panel but the SB will not deploy. You can deploy the speedbrakes by usinf /. IMPORTANT, Whatever position the lever was PRIOR to pushing / in flight, using "SHIFT +" command will place them back into this **state. So, say we are in descent and have armed the spoilers for approach but need to use them to help slow, you push / to deploy then push SHIFT + to place them right back to the ARMED position.
