October 25, 200421 yr Can anyone confirm this? The LNAV preactivation doesn't work if you are on the ground, but airport elev is above 400ft?If so, PMDG please include in the FIX list! (if you have one)
October 25, 200421 yr I fly out of LOWS, LSZH and VNKT ..... LNAV sets on the ground without problem. Doesn't answer the question - but it doesn't need a fix!
October 25, 200421 yr I have this problem at LIRA (Ciampino).Whatever i do LNAV won't engage.Any hints?I don't know what to do :(Procedures are ok (sids, stars).I do like i do in every other airport.I did a test: started at lirf, then used "go to airport" and this time it worked.I then reloaded a fresh plane (not exited FS, just reloaded a pmdg 737) and there it was again: i could not set LNAV.So what?
October 25, 200421 yr You are thinking in terms of a *program* fault insted of the actual AFDS operation limitations which state for one to arm LNAV, the active LEG has to be within 3 NM and 5 degrees of the rwy heading, guidence becomes active at 50' AGL...Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. October 26, 200421 yr >LNAV, the active LEG has to be within 3 NM and 5 degrees of>the rwy heading, guidence becomes active at 50' AGL...All sids are created with a FIX ahead of the runway, to let the plane fly runway heading for some time.It is no different in this case. And it works for LIRF where the runway alone is 1000ft longer then at LIRA, and the initial FIX is always 1nm ahead of rwy threshold. So why dosn't it work at LIRA????
October 26, 200421 yr Ok got it!Thank you Randy, you pointed me to the real cause of this problem: a sid i had downloaded had the initial fix misplaced :-rollSorry for all the fuss :(
