Hello. I have my realism settings set high, but when I open overhead panel and switch everything off, I am still able to fly without any type of failure or shutdown. The only thing that stops working are the flaps and gear. Am I missing something?

Am I missing something? Well you have missed the forum guidelines which state you must sign your real name to your posts on this forum http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=136&topic_id=65744&mesg_id=65744&page= but when I open overhead panel and switch everything off, I am still able to fly without any type of failure or shutdown. The only thing that stops working are the flaps and gear Is it a little strange that your question regarding realism is based upon something a real life pilot would never do (so in fact it is not realistic to turn everything off and fly) yet you expect a *real* answer? Well turning everything off certainly is a generic term, how do you know you actually turned everything OFF and not really ON like the engine generators? They certainly look OFF when in fact they are ON.. Now if you want to test for realistic failures then state cleraly what you tunred off and what was it's effect or non effect. Certainly turning off the engines would make an impact but that is not on the OH. The overhead does have seatbelt signs and a YAW DAMPER switch which mean not too much in regards to flying potential. Be specific about what system you are turning off and what you believe turing it off should do to the flyablity of the aircraft and we can help out a little better.Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
