October 31, 200421 yr I was experiencing this and I have read the other posts on the subject, but I'm unsure of what to do. What should I set in FSUIPC, and does that prevent the problem completely?
October 31, 200421 yr Hi,The most obvious reason for an airspeed indicator to give a false reading is that the probes (or pitot tubes) are frozen. Did you switch on your Probe Heat system after start-up? This prevents icing on this probes.
November 1, 200421 yr Mikkel - Sometimes FS9 seems to produce icing conditions that are so severe that even heated pitot tubes freezes. FS9 apparently uses 5 levels of icing from 0 to 4 where 4 is severe icing. In the registered version of FSUIPC you can set the upper limit of icing. See attached pitcure. This has been confirmed by Pete Dowson (the author of FSUIPC) and he has subsequently produced a fix for this in FSUIPC. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/96128.jpgIf you are using AS2004.5 you have an option to prevent any icing to occur. But I would go for the FSUIPC way as this will still leave me with some icing. If you have neither of the two above you have to rely on your attitude and thrust. Disconnect the A/T as it will try to increase thrust. At cruise you should be at approx 2-3 Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
