November 1, 200421 yr Hi,I just had a few generic questions:I'm confused, after we rotate, what speed do we maintain? I understand we set V2+15 kts on the MCP right? So what happens to me (between the time I manually fly the airplane and engage the AP at around 400ft) is that I rotate, typically overshoot V2+15kts since A/T is engaged. So the question is do we maintain this climb speed using pitch until AP takes over? Is that how it works?Second, using VNAV,the rate of descent is tooo slow....I always reach terribly hi....How do I descend and at the same time slow down....I guess this question has been repeated before, but I'd like some comments.BTW, yesterday I did my first autolanding...AMAZING..I JUST LOVE THE NG!Thanks indeed,Pranav
November 1, 200421 yr V2 + 20 is the speed you maintain, you can go faster than this of course depending. V2 is set on the MCP, not V2 + any number, just V2. The flight director will give pitch guidence for V2 + 20. Not sure what you mean by "rate of descent is tooo slow", too slow compared to what exactly? It is following the path profile, and it's reletive only to that...Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/southparkcartmad.gif
I WANT MY 747!
Caution!
