November 4, 200421 yr Iain,As far as I am concerned (knowledge from manuals, virtual and real pilots) the correct procedure is to establish on the ILS, extend L/G and slow down to VRef+5 KTs while extending flaps on schedule. If you do a manual approach then yes, you will have to play with throttle in order to keep her on the G/S.Cheers, Balint Nagy
November 4, 200421 yr Guys you have to remeber flying a 737 aint like flying your cessnas down at your local airport. Increasing your throttle on a jet will cause an increase in IAS, not like a cessna where an increase in throttle will cause an increase in height. So set vref +5 go through your landing checks and if you do go below glideslope dont increase throttle to try come back up.. all that will happen is an increase in IAS or so it should. You need to use your pitch control to keep it online and throttle to manage your appraoching speeds.I havent flowen the PMDG one much, but im assuming that dynamics would be similar.Chippy
