Altimeter incorrect warning -FS 2004

Featured Replies

In FS2004 Settings right at the top right hand side you will see a checkbox with "Display Flying Tips" beside it. Unchecking this box will stop those flying tips from appearing. This however will also take away the essages like, "Your engines are shut down, press CTRL-E to start" etc.

Bernie,On the other hand please keep in mind, that the REASON this message keeps popping up is that your altimeter setting is indeed incorrect, this can cause some serious pain in the @ss on the long run.. ;)So, besides turning the feature off keep an eye on your altimeter setting and the ATIS..Cheers,

The standard change from qnh/std seems to be 18000(u.s system?). Can the setting be changed to a lower value -say 4000 -if so -how please -i think I did manage this once but can't remember where I got the info!ThanksBernie Lonnenhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

It's in the FMC, the PERF Page I think, on the right, it's called TRANSITION (Altitude).Bear in mind that the Flight Sim ATC (if you use it) still will regard TA as 18,000 ft, though they don't mention it by name. There will just be a mismatch between what ATC says is your altitude and what your instruments say.Graham
