November 16, 200421 yr EDIT: Since posting the query below, I've recalled that the MGTOW for the 700 is incorrect in the manual(?). According to the Load Manager it should be 153,500 lbs. While that improves the situation, more than 40% of the weights in the table are not permissible, including 7 or the 11 Climb Limit weights. So, my questions stands.Drawn by the snappy title, eh? :-)Well, anyway, here's my query:Given that the Max Gross Takeoff Weight for the 700 series is 133,000 lbs(see section 4-8), I find it difficult to make sense of the takeoff limit weights given in the Runway Length Limit Weight Table(Section 1-9)? Only about 25% of the specified weights in the body of the table are under the structural limit takeoff weight, and NONE of the Climb Limit weights are permissible, as all are greater than 133,000 lbs!Can someone explain this, please?Thanks a lot,Frank
November 16, 200421 yr Frank,This is perfectly normal. You will calculate all the limiting weights and see which figure is the smallest one. In some cases on short runways you will be limited by the field limit weight but on longer runways this is not a limit but more likely you'll see the structural weight being the limiting one. I'm still investigating the climb limiting weight (CLW) as this is supposed to be the most limiting figure for the NG (second segment climb profile).BTW. You can't really say any structural limiting weight is wrong as operators buy the NG with a certain max structural weight. The more you want to carry the more cash you have to chip in (There is no physical difference on the aircraft though. However there is a maximum certified take off weight that can't be crossed). But sure the 133.000 figure seems really low. November 16, 200421 yr Hi Mats,I take your point that some figures in the table can be outside the limiting weight, but I would be dubious about so many values being 'wrong', as was the case with a weight of 133000 lbs. In fact, this suggests to me that such a low figure has to be mistaken!Yes, on having different certified structural limit weights(I recall you explained this to me in another thread :-)), but I think we are both agreed that some figures are unreasonable, eh?BR,Frank
