November 25, 200421 yr Is this product as good as it looks?http://members.chello.at/addongauges/CWR.htmIf this thing accuratly puts in WXR in the panel as it says it does, I might buy it.Anyone here have it or have experience with it?Randy Oldfield
November 25, 200421 yr Actually, after I saw this screenshot, I think i'll pass on it.http://www.simmarket.com/online/addongauge..._preview008.jpgRandy Oldfield
November 25, 200421 yr Hi Randy,Looks interesting, and at a nice price, but I am puzzled by the claim that it supports "Three modes of operation: CLOUD, PRECIP, STORM". My understanding is that WXR Radar detects precipitation only?I'm going to download the manual to learn more.BR,Frank
November 25, 200421 yr You can see more screenshots and review here;http://www.simmarket.com/online/addongauges/CWR/It looks nice on the lear, cessna wxr radar unit etc, but my beef is the look of the pmdg screenshot. I wonder if that wxr radar unit can be imported as a popup in the pmdg panel to cover the engine readings etc. Then it might be nice to buy.Randy Oldfield
November 25, 200421 yr I bought it two days ago and am pretty happy with it. Not a huge lot of realism in the fact that it can show just clouds, and storms. But it can be used realisticly when in Percipitation mode. The Tilt feature is basic, 1500FT above or below and 3000ft. It renders the clouds/cells a lot nicer than in that screenshot. I have no idea why he'd post something as ugly as that when trying to sell the product. If you're looking for realism, then buy the Reality XP, but for the price of 7.90 euros, you get a clean looking and efective wx overview.Realism is not possible at the moment, even with the Reality XP as the radar returns should be displayed on the PFD. Because of this, I'm not worried about the few other discrepincies.Go for it.John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer

I just have a quick question. Does your Cessna now have that WXR unit shown in the screenshot? If so, I'm good at editing panels and I'd likely be able to write up a edited panel so that unit pops up whenever one wants it shown in the 737NG. I'm also sure that I could edit the radar screen to fit better within the WXR unit also. Thanks,Randy Oldfield
November 25, 200421 yr Well, I went ahead and purchased it. The guy emailed me the reg code about 2 hours after my purchase from simflyers. So far it looks great and seems to work solid. Pleased with it so far.BTW those screenshots don't do it justice.Randy Oldfield
November 25, 200421 yr Hello,I just purchased the CWR addon for FS2004. I am using it with PMDG's 737-600/700/800/900 series aircraft. All I can say is WOW, I love it. They did an outstanding job!!!. This is by far one of the better addons I have purchased in some time. I modified my panel config file to add it to the main panel page, I don't fly the zoom view.My settings{Window Titles}WindowXX=WxRadar{Window01}gaugeXX=WxGauge!WxIcon,770,931,16,16{WindowXX}background_color=1,1,1size_mm=280,250window_pos=0.690,0.698visible=0ident=12000gauge00=WxGauge!WxRadar,3,0,270,270Mike
November 25, 200421 yr Commercial Member "as the radar returns should be displayed on the PFD"ehm where on the PFD would you like to see that kind of info? ;-)Speed tape? Or on the horizon?I believe you're referring to the ND (navigation display)Cheers!Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
November 26, 200421 yr Mark,You are indeed correct, I think we all know I meant the ND but I was running out the door and was pushed for time ;)John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer
