December 6, 200421 yr Hi all. Purchased the 737 over the weekend. I must say I am very impressed up to now. However, I have an issue with the sound. It works ok when I stay in the normal main panel view. However, if I switch to another view or menu, like spot plane, then the sound distorts badly, sometimes a loud screech. This is almost making a great product hard to use.I read a simialr post like this, and someone suggesting altering the active x memory or something? How do I do this?Kind regards,Richard
December 6, 200421 yr Hi Richard,Yes I am afriad I have the same problem. Can you tell us your sound card. I have a Soundblaster Live card all with the latest drivers. I have reduced sound quality to low in FS9 and in Directx 9. But the screetch goes on.All my other aircraft are fine. Even PMDG in FS2002 has no sound issues. This is a great forum, so I'm sure someone cleverer than me will come up with a solution for you.Good luck !Best Wishes,Chris
December 7, 200421 yr Hi there.I also have a soundblaster live! card. All the other aircraft are fine, just the 737. Have you had a response from someone from PMDG?
December 7, 200421 yr Guys - There is an issue with the Soundblaster Live cards that has been discussed earlier on this forum. You need to have the latest drivers installed and also set the hardware acceleration down a notch.I can highly recommend an advanced search on this forum about this issue as it has been extensively discussed and solutions have been found.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
December 7, 200421 yr I also have a soundblaster live card in one of my PC's. (Never again) and u need to change drivers to get it to work properly. However, in my experience, the newest driver available wasn't necessarily the one that woked best (for me) from memory.Ok....have found what the one that eventually worked for me correctly.Driver Date 24/07/2002Driver version 5.12.2.252After uninstalling drivers and reinstalling new ones then configuring then testing then much bashing of head against the wall and rather obscene language :( etc etc blah blah, I now dont dare try and update it."If it ain't broke, don't fix it."Good luck
