February 5, 200521 yr Reading a few earlier threads with people wanting progress updates but more along the lines of "how long". Perhaps a more interesting and realistic progress thought would be along the lines of "What feature/bugs we are currently working on, what setbacks we have had, what things are currently being tested, what features have passed testing and are basically waiting for the rest of the product to be finished."Ceartainly more informitive (and realistic) than a 'progress bar', and may also help some readers learn about the building and testing process that goes into developing a large sophisticated addon such as the 744 or MD11.Of course the biggest problem with this is someone has to write a long post, which they would be doing instead of, say, programming or testing. Thus the progress reports would actually delay the product's release in a small way. However, it may have some benifit, with people learning about how the process works, and stopping misconceved ideas such as "Give us a date" or "How many things have to be added yet".Unfortunatley now that it's quite far into the 744 project, the progress would most likley be little niggly problems instead of rather tangable things you can easily talk about. Particularly when there's an issue one doesn't completley understand (which are the ones which require work to program around) then it can be a bit of a chore to actually discribe what it is your actually doing with it.But just an idea to look outside the box with the requests for "744 update requests". Of course the other way to deal with it is the current way which is to actually work the problem and once the problems are gone, go on to the next one without dwelling on it or discussing it. The merit of this, is that the things get done slightly faster. The negitave, that potential customers keep clawing at the forum saying "How long?"Of course there is the possibility that even with threads like these, the "how long?" threads will still stick around. which could be rather a bore, but I think that it could make for some interesting reading none the less.Regards,Trent HopkinsonYSSY Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
