Low Quality Textures On The Simulator On The PMDG.

Featured Replies

Hello,First of all I want to warn you that my english isn't the best on eatrh so be patient please :).I downloaded the "Paint Kit" of the 738 from PMDG's site, I loaded the textures into my "Photoshop" I made some changes on the textures and saved them as BMP 32Bit format. After that I used "DXTBMP" to convert those BMP's into 32Bit 8-888 Extended Bitmap files. So far so good...But when I loaded the textures into the simulator, there was a drastic change on the quality of the textures.I can't describe you the changes so i will show you a picture:Around.jpgAt the picture you can see:1. At the background you can see the picture from the simulator, it's in low quality and it's spread a bit.You can also see the diffrents between the engine and the body, and the low quality of the windows.2. At the Foreground you can see the picture from the BMP file - PERFECT QUALITY.What can cause the change??? Is it somewhere between the converts, or it's problem in the way I edited the textures in Photoshop?Big Thank's Nir Portal.

Do you have Imagetool? Looks like MipMaps have been added to your textures which causes it to blur. You'll need to open the image using Imagetool, click on image, extract mipmaps, this will create about 9 images. Select the one with ***.bmp_0 and save that as the fuselage texture. It should work. :)

Thank you for your help Sir!But I stil have a problem:I didn't found Imagetool on the internet (ether after a LONG search in google). Can you please give me a link to the software?Thank'sNir.

If you use DXTBMP, you should uncheck the 'Include Mips' in the 'Prefs' menu before saving the texture.CheersThomas
