ACARS Menu in737 FMC

Does anyone know if any of the ACARS functions are implemented in the 737 FMC? And, if so, what they do?Is there any point in "Initializing" ACARS?The menu appeared when I bought the -800,-900 update. It is not described in the manuals.Jack Laschenski
