Upgrade to PMDG-800/900: Where is the "old" cockpit layout of the -700?

Featured Replies

Hi,I`ve that problem:After installing the PMDG-800/900 my cockpit of the "old" PMDG-700 has changed and looks differents concerning the layout of instruments etc...I would like to fly the B737-600,700 still the old "classic" style (as it looked *before* installing the 800/900.So my question: Is there a way to switch over to the *"Classic"* (the way it looked before the upgrade) cockpit style of the 600,700 or do I have to deinstall the 800/900?Many thanks in advance...:) :)GreetingsSusan

Never noticed any "layout" changes, but the 800/900 permanantly changes the look of the panel with reference to the color, lighting, and overall appearance. The original 600/700 panel wasn't a very accurate representation of the real NG, so PMDG changed a bunch of things to make it look more realistic. You do get used to it after a while, and it's much better anyhow. If you're talking about the instruments within the glass LCDs, then you now have the EFIS/MAP style to choose from, which is the "classic" style that the non-glass panels had. If you have the EFIS/MAP, and want your PFD/ND back, then go to the menu-bar while active in the sim/cockpit by hitting the ALT ket and selecting the PMDG from the menu. In there under 'Styles', IIRC, you'll find a choice between those two items and a few other options. With the 800/900 you get a bunch of new things, mostly desired is the functional TCAS II, so I wouldn't remove it.

Hi Chris, thanks very much...I "fixed" the problem with your help...and yes, I meant the instuments location inside the glass-cockpit (I prefer PFD/ND)...Now, it`s the way I like it most...:)Have a nice SundaySusan
