December 3, 200520 yr ...and its wingtips.Hi guys!Forgive me if this topic has been handled before, but my search for it did not say so.Regarding the new -400D option I would like to comment that something seems to be wrong here. I think you know it, but I would like to challenge your response. There is an actual and major difference in the whole wing design of the -400D compared with the other -400 variants. The former sports the wingspan of the -1/-2/-300 series, namely 195'8", while the latter spans 211'5". This is not only due to winglets, of course. In fact, while looking closely on your superb outside model, I discovered that the outboard leading edge flap group consists of only 5 discrete flaps, while the real McCoy carries 6 of them except for the -400D, where there are indeed only 5 outboard LE flaps.BTW: the Boeing numbering seems interesting, since the outermost LE flaps are called 1A and 26A, indicating that they are just additions to the old design. So the -400D wing ends just outboard of the low speed aileron. Boeing even offers a conversion towards a regular -400 wing, but is has never been ordered. While the above is meant mainly nice to know for my fellow users, my question to you is, whether this has not been modified intentionally (due to adding too much of complexity in the programming) or if it has simply been overlooked. If the latter is the case, a correction sometime in the future would be nice (say SU 1.99).And while I'm at it: why doesn't the horizontal stabilizer move? Thanks a lot.-Kim A. Wendt, SFO B747-400
December 3, 200520 yr Commercial Member The hide winglet option is a response to customer requests for a model to allow users to simulate routes of certain domestic carriers. It is not intended to be, nor has it been advertised to be, a full simulation of the 400D. The "Hide Winglet" option is just that: an option to hide the winglets.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
