On the LEGS page you can enter hights in the FMC after each individual waypoint. I beleve this is meant by the Manual step climb. The auto step climb is on the VNAV page. The FMC calculates how the weight will be and looks when it is possible again to climb a little higher for its optimem altitude. You can manually edit the "STEP hight" from 0, 1000, ICAO/2000 and 4000!On the VNAV page, the FMC will show you when the aircraft is able to climb again to its optimum altitude, showing in nM and counting down towards 0!You have to set your Altitude yourself in order to climb!Offcourse, I am just an FS fanatic, and no pilot, so I could be totally wrong about this. Then, I would like to be corrected ;)Cheers

FMC USER'S MANUAL 12-48 describes "No step climbs can be executed without pilot interaction". Isn't it means there is no 'auto step climbs'?Sincerely,Kan-ichiro Fushihara
