Featured Replies

I'm, getting a clicking & like tabs or flaps running up and down noise like something keeps adjusting while flying the Pilatus pc 12.It happens even when autopilot is off.I can't describe it any other way.Anyone else have this or know what it is?Thanks,Ron

Don't know what it is, but I'd declare an emergency and put down at the closest airport!Seriously, it reminds me of one of my most embarassing moments. A couple of friends and I rented a Cessna 182 and planned a short flight from Napa to the Nut Tree--this was almost 20 years ago, and we were all in our 20's. Tim, who was the pilot, maybe had 20-30 hours flight time, tops.During flight, halfway between Napa and Vacaville, we heard an unearthly sound...very much like the hammer of Thor trying to rip us apart.... Tim declared an emergency, and we flew into Nut Tree's uncontrolled strip, which was still a busy one with many pilots. As we taxied to our spot, a pilot walked up with a wide grin... Shouting loud enough for folks to hear throughout California, he said "Next time, I bet you'll check that all your seatbelts and buckles are hanging INSIDE the cabin, eh?"We ate lunch and shopped amidst the chuckles and comments of "low-time" pilots...-John
