Approaching minimum's means exactly that, for example again at Manchester the BARO minima is 449ft (ILS), basically this is worked out from runway elevation plus 200ft, therefore Manchester is 249 ft abv msl + 200 ft = 449ft. So when you hear approaching minimum's it means you are + 100ft (or on some of the older 800 variants its +80ft above MDA/DH) above your MDA/DH. So if you were doing an approach and not visual at this point you would be scanning outside to see if you can see any approach lights and at the same time thinking about executuing a go-around.Hope this helps!UKP

Hi,Thanks for your repley.I understand that, but the question is.When do you hear a "Approaching decision height" sound unstead of an "approaching minimums"sound :(Jazer

The EGPWS call is always "approaching minimums" only.UKP
