High nose up attitude during landing

Recommended Posts

I have the impression that the 744 even at lighter weights needs a relatively high nose up attitude even at speeds near Vref+10 and a little higher than this. From the 2D view there's no problem, but in spot view the plane looks a little strange with the nose so much up.Don't know the exact value of degrees now, will check that again. Is this normal?Andreas

Andreas,Which point of the landing are you talking about? The approach or flare??The nose will rise in the flare, this is to reduce speed and save the extra work on the brakes and reversers, also should give a nice main gear touchdown instead of the nose wheels first.Hope this helpsDaniel
