April 3, 200620 yr I hav had PMDG 744 for awhile now and still learning all the various aspects of the avionics and switchesI hav a few Questions regarding the PMDG 7441) DO I have to buy a flight planner such as FSNAV2)I read in the forums there is a program that allows u to produce FS2002/FS9's flight plan (.pln) into .rte format"PLN to RTE v1.0.1 "Its says PLN2RTE is an utility for converting FS2002/FS9's flight plan (.pln) into .rte format. The converted .rte format is compatible with PMDG's 737NG FMC. This version fixes a bug for converting native FS9's auto-generated flight plan. Jetways in FS9's flight plans are now also supported. It says its capatible with the 737 but is it capatible with the 744Thx if any1 answers
April 3, 200620 yr Hiya, welcome to the forumsIt pays to put your name in your posts, allows us all to get on a bit more effectively. Cheers. :-)You don't need a flight planner, though they are brilliant tools to eventually have. Besides FSNav there is also FSBuild, a top-class program. There are a number of flightplanning websites out there that will generate a route for you, then you can manually enter the route into the FMC from there.I recommend devoting some time to getting competent in this area first, as it helps you to understand what the FMC is actually doing rather than just trusting it blindly. (If it all goes wrong halfway across the atlantic at night you need to have a good idea of why and how to correct it!)Once you know how the FMC is doing its thing, get a flightplanner that will generate a PMDG rte file, then it's just a matter of calling it up in the COROUTE field and you're away!
