From the dept. of nitty-gritty details:In the 747F I just noted that the cockpit dome light pulsates/flickers/flashes in the same pace as the beacon, when watching from the outside. It's not a mirage, even if you zoom in so that you can't see the beacons, just the pilots, the dome light goes on and off.
