My First PMDG 747 Video

Featured Replies

HiI've just completed my first video. I'm flying the 747-400F from Gatwick to Fiumicino. I have only been flying the 'Queen' for a about 3 weeks, but I am use to PS1.3 so the transistion was fairly easy. Also, I am using Radar Contact with the PMDG 747 and they work fine together. The video is large, over 50MB and runs at 546Kbits/sec, so you will need a decent BB internet connection.Anyway, enjoy the video. You can view it here http://ifcollins.neptune.comATBIan EGBB

Hi Wilson.I used FRAPS to record it and Windows Movie Maker to edit it.ATBIan EGBB

Hi Ian,>Anyway, enjoy the video. You can view it here>http://ifcollins.neptune.comIs there a chance that you upload your video into youtube or google videos?Cheers,Pedro Venda.

Nice video Ian,Didn

>Hi Wilson.>>I used FRAPS to record it and Windows Movie Maker to edit it.>>ATB>Ian EGBB>>Thanks, I downloaded FRAPS and will start working with it a little bit today. I also wonder how you could also record live voice (my voice) with it as well. I guess I would have to dubb it in.Wilson HinesMy Blog: http://www.wilsonhines.com --------------------------------------http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/837438/3074.png

Wow! This is a very beautiful video :)Nicely edited, nice music, nice angles - and nice flying.Good job!Best regards,

YouTube doesn't allow such big and long videos in their free service...Best regards,

Hi Wilson,You can't record live voice with FRAPS, it cuts the mic off when you record, you would have to add it when editing the video. If your using Windows Movie Maker then select 'TOOLS' and then select 'NARRATE TIMELINE' but if you do that you can not have music at the same time because there is only one audio channel.ATBIan EGBB

Hmm, Vr+5 on approach what's that ;-) You caught me out Carlos, I forgot Vr+5 on the approach. Radar Contact is much better than the default FS ATC. You can declare missed approaches, emergencys, deviation for weather and turbulance plus lots more, buts its only for IFR it does not support VFR yet, I never fly without it now. It's worth buying the 400F just for the updates, especialy if you want to give freight a go, I personaly like both pax & freight.PS. If you do purchase Radar Contact don't forget to update FSUIPC to version 3.553, it includes a much better window than the AdvDisp for displaying Radar Contact.ATBIan EGBB

Hi Oyvind,Thank you for the nice comments. As I say this was my first attempt at a video, so as I get used to the software they can only get better. I will be doing some more videos over the next couple of weeks so look out for them. I want to do a video using my TrackIR4, but I'm having perfromance issues when using that and FRAPS at the same time.ATBIan EGBB

Ian Very nice video indeed!!!!!!Now let me say you need to Polish youre 744 procedures. you realy need Capt. Mike Ray's 744 simulator and Checkride. you will see why!!! every body needs it!!!!.. specialyat approach phase. Good Luck and Happy Flying!!!!!!

Hi Ian,Very nice video :-). I really enjoyed seeing RC4 in action.I didn't see any deployed spoilers or reverse thrust when you landed... was that on purpose? Now I would suggest (again) that you upload your video into the google video service; There are no size or length restrictions, the video can be made available to download and everybody can quickly see it, without having to use MS Windows+Internet Explorer+ActiveX+disabled popup blocker.Cheers and congratulations,Pedro Venda.

Hi Pedro,Thanks for the nice comment. I did not use reverse thrust on purpose, less wear and tear on the engines ;-) and I completly forgot to arm the spoilers :-roll I'm still fairly new to the 'Queen' so you will have to forgive me. I will check out the Google Video Service tonight.ATBIan EGBB

Hi Luis,Thank you for your nice comment. You are right my 744 procedures need pollishing, I'm still fairly new to the 744. I used to use PS1.3 744 but that was about 4 years back so I have forgotten a few things since then. Where will I find Capt. Mike Ray's 744 simulator and checkride?ATBIan
