i sometimes get problems with my 747 when using HDG SEL. What happends is that when i select a new heading, the aircraft sometimes just continue turning past the selected heading and never stops. I have to turn of the AP and so on. Does anyone else have this problem?Roar

Did you push the heading select button in the center, not the heading hold switchlight, when you entered your new heading? Does the FMA show you're in heading select mode? Ken.

it's sort of a problem for me to catch a picture of these events since they happend so rarely. i did push the correct button and the FMA said HDG SEL all the time. i will try to catch a picture.Roar
