B737NG-800 - Radios Failed

Featured Replies

I've got a problem with my PMDG B738NG. This morning on a Flight from Gatwick to Glasgow my Radio failed; I was unable to change Frequencies at all. Only the Transponder could be changed. The Radios failed after takeoff, having been working perfectly up to then. I had a similar problem a month ago; but in that case they resumed woking properly after about 10 minutes.Help would be greatly appreciated.KenSomerset, England

I think this is because the lighting changed in the cockpit. Since this was a morning flight, I would guess it was semi dark outside and you had the panel illuminated. Sometimes when it changes automatically, some gauges dont work or load right. Just manually turn the switch on and off and you should be all set.Alex

Hi Alex,Thanks for your reply. Next time I'll try the Panel switch. Ken

Let me know how it goes. I have a few more ideas if it doesn't work.Alex

Ken,It might also be a symptom of fatigued battery. Certain equipment cease to operate at certain voltage levels. Generators online?Hope it helps,

Ken,I had a similar problem once when I couldn't tune any of the nav frequencies - it was because I had not set the power supply on the overhead panel - there should be no bluse or orange lights illuminated on the power supply system.

Hi Mats, I assume we are talking about the Aircraft battery; not the PC battery?Dave, it could be that, sometimes I 'hurry' the startup; although I try to follow the Aircraft Checklists to the line. I'll watch out in future. Thanks everyone for your replies, very helpful.KenSomerset, England
