August 25, 200619 yr When following the Normal Procedures during preflight, in the Cabin Altitude Section, one finds the following step:LANDING ALTITUDE SWITCH - AUTOHowever, on the overhead panel, the landing altitude switch is actuall a small metal pushbutton. The button can be in or out, but there is no indication there of which of these two settings is "Auto". Does anyone know the answer?Andrew
August 25, 200619 yr if this button is pushed, you set the ldg altitude manually, if it is not pushed, the FMC sets the ldg alt for you depending on what arrival airport you have entered in FMC RTE page. The button is not pushed in default cold and dark situation so you do not need to change anything there.
August 28, 200619 yr AUTO or MAN will be indicated at the bottom of the lower EICAS with the ENG page displayed.
