July 28, 200223 yr I decided to take the short field test with the simubuild 340-600. I went to Meigs. I had all 5 tanks topped, full flaps, full up trim, full power, full aft yoke and held brakes until I reached 100%.....somehow I got off the ground! All that happened was I scrapped the entire bottom of the tail. As soon as I was off the ground I raised the flaps fully and got the gear up, then nosed it over for 10 sec and then put it into a 20 deg climb......I was up at 25000ft in about 1 min!!
