I noticed that the overhead panels in the Virtual Cockpit for the -800 and -900 versions of 737 are functional, but for the -600 and -700, they are not. Is there a patch or update that can correct this, or is this simply the way it is?Thanks!

You need to sign your posts with your real name.There is an update that will make your 600/700 VC as functional as the 800/900 one if you bought them both from the PMDG store. Check out http://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/pages/down/updates.html and download the '737-800/900 Model Update' and you should be good to go.Hope it helps,
