New 74X glideslope capture awful!

Recommended Posts

Guest Totalbeginner

Is it just me, or does anyone else find that the glideslope capture in the new 74X isn't as good as older versions? At 1 Dot up (glideslope scale) the FMA changes to GS (green) and the aircraft does a climb followed by a dive to intercept it. I'm 100% sure that it didn't do this on other version!Martin Neep

Martin,Some threads above I see your installation of the 400X is giving more than a single unsolved problem. So I think it's premature to call the GS intercept "awfull".However, it's my opinion that the FS9 version 1.1 does the intercept in a more subtle way.(Didn't try the FSX/FS9 update yet.)Also pitch stability on the last 500 ft final seems more smooth to me in the FS9 version.Once you have your system configured properly, I'm interested in your findings.regards,HarryFS9 P4 2.66 XPHomeFSX Q6600 VistaHP

>Also pitch stability on the last 500 ft final seems more>smooth to me in the FS9 version.I definately agree with that. For some reason the A/P goes into a wave like motion in the 74X version. It also has some issues with HDG SEL during slow flight. If I'm attempting a non-precision approach, the A/P swerves left and right about 2 degrees either side of the selected HDG. But you're right, it's probably just my machine. (and my luck)
