KLAX/KEDW Lesson1 Problem

Featured Replies

Greetings, I've flown this lesson 3 times with the same sad results. At VOR VCV the turn gets real wide and the speed starts to come down but never really gets very slow. I don't believe it gets to 270.It misses the rest of the flt plan and eventually flys out over the ocean.I know I'm missing something, but I think I'm following the lesson word for word.I'm vry new to this Jet flying, what the heck am I missing, any suggestion from folks that have tried this lesson? This Lesson: Boeing 747-400 Standard Procedure's Guide / Jared "Smitty Smith"Many Thanks,Ray

Ray,Have you closed up all the discontinuities on the FMC legs page? If not, this could be the cause.

Hi Ron, No that wasn't the problem.I just finished the flt abt an hr ago. Had a successful landing atEdwards Air Force Base (KEDW), used a LOT more r/w than necessary but still "all was well"Problem was all mine, and worse, I made the same mistake over & over.I should RTM EXACTLY as author intended!!!!!!I'm abt to fly the same flt agn, and make certain I've got it right. Thanks,Ray

Glad to hear you got it sorted out Ray. I remember flying that same tutorial some time ago. Theres nothing like that feeling of accomplishment when you bring down a 747 successfully.
