Having just flown home on NZ6 (B744, NZAA-KLAX), I wondered about typical fuel, reserves and Cost Index for such long flights. I realize that winds and routing would change actual values. Also interesting in QF's flights YSSY to both KLAX and KSFO. I assume that the real aircraft have tables in their AOM that enable this to be calculated, and also flight planning software for dispatch would do this much easier, but how do you all make these calculations? Is there a s/w app that does it for the PMDG (incredible) aircraft, or does someone have some suggested values?Thanks- Bruce.
