SUCCESS !! -- CH Yoke +CH Pedals+Force Feedback altoget

Featured Replies

Well, sort of....but read on, I surprised myself today:Like many, I've wondered for some time how or if I can use an MS Force Feedback stick with my CH USB yoke and CH USB pedals. I now know that I can, sort of...!I bought a BELKIN 4-port USB hub from DELL for $29.95 and got a new MS FFB 2 joystick from Page Computer online for $75.I plugged the CH yoke into port 1, the pedals into port 2, and they worked fine. Five days later (today), I plugged the newly arrived MS FFB stick into port 3. For some reason, the MS game controller software worked first time round (!!) and I used the MS factory pre-set profile of FS2000 for Fs2002. I then went into FS2002 and assigned settings to the stick. I then backed up my Fs2002.cfg with all settings. The CH equipment and the FFB stick can exist side-by-side but there may be interference. If the FFB stick is not dead-centered, for e.g., the yoke is adversely affected. Bizarrely (but not a serious problem), if I use the yoke, I can simultaneously twist the FFB stick and get rudder working! Also, while the CH equipment is plugged into the USB hub ports, the throttle on the FFB stick is inoperative. I think the best way to operate this is to unplug the stick when I want to use the yoke and pedals; and then unplug the latter when I want to use the stick. A cold reboot may be necessary for the CH equipmnent since it has always been temperamental and frankly I've had it with sorting out its temperament. I use generic MS Windows 98 drivers for the CH equipment and it works as well as CH software ever worked if not better. But the MS FFB stick works presto! with real plug-and-pray capabilities which is great. It is quite exciting having force feedback for takeoff, stalls, wind, and so on. It works fine with the PSS 744 as well. The USB hub beats the DELL PC for accessibility because my DELL has USB ports at the back and they are hard to reach with my hutch in my MSFS workspace. The USB hub is accessible on my desktop.Anyway, I thought I'd post this in case it assists others who want the same set-up or who have tried and not been able to get things working quite right. Admittedly, even my way is a "fix" of sorts, but it's an easy and quick fix I can live with quite happily.Cheers!JSDELL PII 450 Mhz > P3 850Mhz, 384 RAM, PC 100Windows 98 (original edition, never upgraded)ELSA Gladiac GTS 32MB DDRSome 64MB Mx card tooP.S.
