June 24, 200817 yr Forgot to release the parking brake before I pushed back, got a BRAKE TEMP warning on the EICAS events- nice bit of realism! Pulled up EICAS gear, and they're at 9, which the max I think? Anyway, now 4 hours into flight and BRAKE TEMP is still on, and the brakes are still cherry red, which may explain the strange smell round here.. so, how to get them cooled down? Gear extend at FL340? :-hmmmT.
June 24, 200817 yr Drop to sea level and dip 'em in the water }( Hope you're not landing too soon though!!!
June 24, 200817 yr Commercial Member Did you push using the standard Microsoft pushback function? If yes, be aware that in reality you would have a hard time pushing a 747 at max. gross weight with parking brake on. But MSFS ignores that and pushes anyway, resulting in unrealistic high brake temperatures. So if this happens in the sim you might want to reset the brake temperature from within the PMDG menu.Regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
June 25, 200817 yr Thanks for that, I didn't know you could reset from the menu, must have a look at that. In the meantime, the brakes have cooled down by themselves :-)
