Pack 2 off

Featured Replies

Captains,Just before turning on the engines, with APU running, I turn Packs 2 and 3 off, as recommended by the manuals. After the engines are running, I turn packs 2 and 3 on again. However, I get a warning sign (in white) during all the flight, saying "Pack 2 off". I tried all packs on-off combinations etc, but the message continues there.Any clues about what am I doing wrong?TksBPilot

Did you turn off the APU?

Sergio,You should turn the off the APU bleed from the APU switch on the overhead AIR panel. Also, there is no need to manually turn off/on the packs. With the AIR system in auto mode, this is all done automatically, packs will turn off when you press the ignition switch, then they will be brought on again as each engine starts running (except pack#2 for which you have to turn off the APU valve first), will then be turned off for take-off and back after take off.
