Problem: Engine shuts down after using FSX menu

Recommended Posts

Hello, first I want to congratulate PMDG, the MD-11 is superb! However, I have a small problem with the MD-11, not a very big one but never the less, annoying:When the engines are running, and I open the FSX control configuration menu (not the PMDG menu), and return to the sim all the engine have shut down. It also happened after a landing when I use the FSX replay function. Having an engine out on the taxiway is a lot safer than in mid air. :) Am I the only one with this problem?I have FSX with the latest service pack (not acceleration), PMDG 747 and the MD-11. I'm using Windows XP 32bit with SP3, and I have: 4GB ram (only 3 in use), Intel Duo E6850 3GHz, Nvida GeForce 9800 GTX.Thank you for your time :)Stian BeinsetENML

I had a similar problem when I had the mixture inadvertently assigned to multiple joystick axises. Periodically one or more engines would shut down. Don't know if you have the same thing but worth a look.

Thank you Tom, you where right. I removed the mixture axis from the FSX control configuration menu, and now the problem is gone. I use CH yoke, and I set up the mixture handle as reverse from the FSUIPC menu. It seems like I have to find some way to work around this problem.Again thank you for your help! :)Stian BeinsetENML
