AI Taxi-speed ... ?

Featured Replies

Hi,What AI taxi-speed setting would you recommend? I use AISpeed v1.1 I use all kind of aircraft (small-big (Cessna C172

I know a site where you can get the taxi-speed add-on.I'm a bit reluctant to mention that you can download it at FSGateway.comI use something like 25 for larger aircraft and 15-18 for small GA aircraft.I just hope this post will stay on here long enough for you to read and not be deleted.Just trying to help a fellow flight simmer.Kev

I use the AI speed program that was released by "virtual John" - can't remember if this is "AI Speed". I pretty much set the taxi speed to the max (30 i think) and left it there. Not because I want to get AI "racing" around the airport - but so that they clear the runway in a "sensible" time..... Now if we could get a program that speeded them up clearing the runway and let them taxi away from the runway at a slower speed then that would be perfect !!!!!

As I remember I set mine to 23 kts, and the turns to 5-10 kts, depending on tightness. They rarely get up to 23 kts, usually closer to 18 kts or so.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

I would suggest to set it to lower value, somethin like 17 or 18 because I had incidents of Ai Aircraft ramming into me from behind because they were too fast to stop at higher settings. It also makes for a more realistic appearance. we are not on the racetrack here.Alex

Alex, you are right, I use these settings now, but still experimenting: Straight taxi 17, Tight turn 4, Wide turn 6.Best Regards and safe flights!Holger (German Eagle) SchleenhainRuesselsheim (near EDDF):-wave GERMANY :-wave____________________________________________________________________Windows XP Prof.AMD Athlon 1330 DDR-266; ASUS A7A266; 512MB-DDRASUS AGP-V8200 T5 Pure (nVIDIA gFORCE3 Ti 500) 64MB DDR-SDRAM, Det. 23.11SB PCI 512CH Flight Sim Yoke USB CH Pro Pedals USBGoFlight-user
