I had a similar problem. Whenever I used the Flight Sim X menus under a flight, even the replay function, the engine seem to shut down. I posted the problem on this forum, and got an answer from somebody who said it could be the mixture axis on my controller. So I removed the mixture axis form the FSX menu and the problem seem to be solved. But now I can brake / retro with the mixture axis on my CH yoke, I have to use the keyboard. Although the symptom is gone, the problem isn't.To PMDG: Anyone on the PMDG team reading this? There seem to be a problem with the mixture axis and the MD-11. The mixture axis in is used for retro in FSUIPC. You should look into it.Stian BeinsetENML

Thanks for jumping in here, I will test this.In FS9 I could switch off all controls by the FS and just use the FSUIPC settings, in FSX it seems not to work this way, at least the Elevator and Ailerons axes I have to leave on the FS side activ. I am totally new to FSX stuff since I purchased the MD11, so I have to fiddle around. Hope I am ready before a new FS version comes out :-)Thanks again and regardsSteffen
