MD11 MCDU altn

Featured Replies

Dear all, first, what a superb piece of work the MD11 is. I suspect I'll be flying it to the exclusion of all others for a long time to come. Thanks, team!I do have a problem though. When preparing the aircraft to fly the tutorial route EGLL / LSZH. I can enter all the data into the MCDU as specified in the tutorial.pdf except the alternative destination LFSB using F-PLN INIT button LSK 2R. This is obviously a four-character entry but the blank for ALTN is a five character box. If I enter LFSB as is clearly expected MSFS hangs with a 'not responding'call and any further activity with mouse or keyboard causes the whole display to 'gray'out. Nothing for it but a return to the desktop and start again. Most frustrating.I cannot see that anyone else has reported this problem in the forum so is it only me and a problem specific to my setup or is there a work-around that I haven't discovered. Any help would be gratefully receivedBob

Bob,Try to skip entering the ALTN LFSB.Continue with the next steps required. At what next entry will MSFS hang again?Regards,Harry
