November 9, 200817 yr Hi allI just bought the MD-11 by PMDG, which makes a good first impression. However there's one problem I can't solve.Whenever I'm tuned to an ILS frequency, the identifier tone (morse code) will be played. This happens even though on the pedestal, both IDENT switches are off and I shut off the volume of all the radio identifier channels. It keeps playing whenever I'm tuned to an ILS, which gets very annoying during the approach. I think it might be that the observer station radio panel is tuned so that the ILS IDENT keeps playing. If that should be the case, where do I find it? If not, are there any other solutions to this problem? Thanks and Best Regards,Yves
November 9, 200817 yr Commercial Member Yves, There are only 2 audio control panels (CAP and F/O, no OBS). As long as the IDENT pushbutton on each one of them is black (no cyan "ON" shows) you shouldn't be hearing any ident sounds, regardless of volume switch positions. The MD-11 is not using at all the default FSX ident sounds and logic. Most probably what happens in your case is that you have accidentally activated the default FSX ident sound, either by pressing Ctrl+1 (the FSX key for activating the VOR-1 ident sound), or by loading the MD-11 after an aircraft with the VOR-1 ident activated. Note, that in FSX the VOR-1 is used for the ILS, while in the MD-11 these are two different radios as in reality. To stop this FSX sound press Ctrl+1 (or whatever key is assigned in the FSX Options->Settings->Controls menu for the VOR-1 ident). In the next update we will provide protection against activating FSX ident sounds. Michael FrantzeskakisPrecision Manuals Development Grouphttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
