http://www.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/asiapcf/east...rash/index.htmlJust awful... this is the first non-terrorist related 767 crash since the Lauda thrust-reverser incident. Also the first ever Air China crash.This has all the hallmarks of a controlled flight into terrain episode. Most survivors were in the front portion of the plane, which seems to me that they almost sucessfully executed the GPWS escape maneuver.
