Featured Replies

Hi dan yeah i guess i got my model # screwed up but it is the 50 seat version of the canadair regional jet and i have heard they refer to it as the -50 series. anyways it was quite the ride !! for your info there is a company in Vancouver that offers full motion sim rides; the contact name is [email protected]. cheers , goper

>The PSS744 FMC, as one example, has less overall >functionality, which may be good for people learning the >-basics- of FLCH/VNAV/LNAV, pre-flight set up >(weights/v-speeds/cost index...), etc. Point is, the PIC767 >can be overwhelming for the MS-default A/P to 'real' FMC-A/P >leap...and it is certainly a big leap. That is true. I didn't think about it that way. I'd been using PS1 for a couple of years before I transitioned to the PIC 767, so it was kind of the opposite procedure for me.For someone with no FMC/glass familiarity, I can see using a less-featured version to get yourself acclimated.I still wholeheartdly recommend getting the PIC 767, though! :)Jon (KSEA)

I think PIC767 is the best add-on for FS2K2.PSS744 has great external modeling, but falls short on the cockpit modeling side. My biggest problem with PSS744 is the hit on the frame rate. It can be managed, but the outside view also has the tendency to stutter while on the ground for takeoffs and landings, at least on my setup. No stuttering for PIC.Pat

Hi Dan, I gues u and i are almost neighbours as i live in nepean. Just want to ask u dan if there are any stores or on-line places in canada where i can purchase add-on's like PIC 767 etc so i don't have to pay the insane exchange rate and also get it faster threough the mail??

Can someone who flies the Phonix Airbus and the PIC767 give me a quick comparison between the two packages please? It appears from this thread, that the PIC seems favoured: I was just wondering WHAT the PIC has that makes it more advanced than the Phonex Airbus. I fly the Phonix Airbus, and think it's great! I'm kind of biased towards flying the Airubs aircraft for short-medium hauls, and am undecided whether to wait and see what the PIC A320 turns out to be like, or to go ahead and buy the PIC 767 anyway. So, a little comparison would be much appreciated. :-)thank youSSunil Mulay

Well, the PSS Airbus is better than their 744, but it's still doesn't hold a candle to the PIC 767. For instance:Open up the overhead panel on the PSS Airbus. How many of the buttons can you actually click? Not the IRUs; not the Fire Control Panel. Open up the MCDU. Try entering a fix. Try modifying any of the takeoff parameters aside from V speeds and derate. Try simulating a failure in the PSS Airbus. Now try doing the same things with the PIC 767. +Everything+ on the overhead panel works as advertised. The FMC is remarkably complete. You can purchase the Big Boeing FMC Guide, and use 95% of the techniques and information presented in it on the PIC 767.It's the best, most realistic add-on for FS. Don't wait...just buy it.Jon (KSEA)

thank you Jon, that's exactly the kind of reply I needed. I guess I'll just have to go ahead and buy it then! :-) I may have to leave it for a while as I'm very busy these days, and I guess I'll need to devote at least a weekend to learn to get the plane up in the sky!Best regardsSSunil Mulay
