August 24, 200223 yr Alright, I know that as great as PIC is, it's not 100% functional, and that's why I'm curious as to whether you can intercept an airway at a point other than a waypoint along the airway. For example, in a route from SFO to IAD..."CAP.J80.VHP.**J110.J30**.BUCKO.JASEN3" You see how the route requires you to transition from the J110 to the J30, but not at any particular point. Is there anyway to get the FMC to do this without scouring charts trying to find the exact coordinates of the intercept point? Ryan HoffmanZDC/VUAL
August 24, 200223 yr I ran into this a while back.I typed it DIRECT - CAPVIA - J80TO - VHPVIA - J110TO - J30DIRECT BUCKOetc.....When it took it, I went in and chacked it..and sure enuf it worked..but it added a few points that are on the J30 that were in the wrong direction...so I deleted them and it flew the route flawlessly.http://www.avsim.com/posky/images/banners/gary_ban.gif Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
August 24, 200223 yr I had a flightplan from Jeppeson on mine.not sure about his. But its possible to get them I heard..usually there is a intersection st the point tho. but not on mine.http://www.avsim.com/posky/images/banners/gary_ban.gif Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
August 24, 200223 yr Thanks. THe only reason I asked is because I've never seen this before and I've always been able to enter both entry and exit points on any airway I choose. I suppose Gary's method works though.
August 25, 200223 yr Gary, I tried your method, did it exactly the same way, with no success...not sure what the deal is. Fortunately I was able to pick out a radial/distance wpt from a VOR near where the airways come together, and just added that in between the last point on J110 and the first on J30, so it worked out fine.
