CHANGING POWER THRUST SETTINGS IN THE AIRCRAFT FILE????

Featured Replies

Hi,last I was on the Boeing HP and read about the 767-300ER technical specs. I saw on this site that the PW4062 engines have 63,300 lbs thrust. Then I went to the Aircraft file (Wilco) and there we have 61,500 lbs thrust for the GE engines. I was just wondering if this would have some performance changes if I would change this to the real thrust settings (e.g. PW 63,300 GE 62,100 and RR with 59,500 lbs) depending on the type of engines my model has.I would like to create my own livery with RR engines and thought about changing the Thrust power settings in the Aircraft file. Now would this have an effect on the FDE without changing anything else?I mean would I have less power than with the PW engines with unchanged FDE

Matthias,If I were you I wouldn't mess with these settings. The FMC is internally programmed, so changing the aircraft.cfg might lead to funny things.Up until now the flightmodel and performance has yet to be proven wrong (except for thrust during taxi, but that's a FS2002 issue). Kind regards,Stephan Haas

So for which enginetype is the FMC modeled? I know Eric Ernst is working for AA and as far as I know they use GE engines, is that right? I was just interested in that. And also the sound which we hear during takeoff and climb? Does each engine type sound the same?@ Stephan HaasI do not mess with those things and I do not want to prove the flight model wrong, I am just interested, that

PIC models the GE engines...There's other differences with the P&W's too - the upper EICAS for example, shows EPR as the main indicator of thrust output in addition to N1...

@ Ryan :Thanks a lot! That was exactly what I wanted to know.Regards Matthias

OK, just a warning, because there have been a lot of people going this way and ending up in a mess. You know what they say: curiosity killed the cat. ;)Kind regards,Stephan Haas
