Hello everybodydoes somebody know why my PiC Plane (or other planes with PiC Panel) don't dock with a docking system?exemple the whole docking system of UK 2000 doesn't work, the distance board, the dock, everything...let me know if somebody knows... :-)Cheers,Chris

Hi Chris, the docking systems in most add-on sceneries rely on the pilot's viewpoint to determine the aircraft's position. The point of view in the PIC panel has been changed to give a more realistic view out of the cockpit (It's either too far forward or too far back, can't remember). Unfortunately, now the docking system thinks the plane is somewhere different than it actually is. You could change the viewpoint in the panel.cfg, but then you'd have serious problems seeing the runway during final approach, so I'd recommend just leaving it where it is and to practice parking - I'm sure you'll figure out some little trick to get it right (I just count to five once past the passenger bridge, that usually leaves me in the right spot...)Cheers,Gosta.

Make sure you're 'zoomed' in enough. For example, Simflyers sceneries require an Spot Plane View to have no more than 300ft Distance and 100ft Altitdue. These settings can be easily changed via Views--->View Options.Ryan-Flightpro08 :-coolVATSIM Pilot/ControllerZLA ARTCC Controller 1 (C-1)SAN TRACON Lead [link:www.taxiwaysigns.com]Taxiwaysigns.com Scenery Designer-----------------------------My "Home Made" System Specs:Intel Pentium 4 2.2GHz ProcessorTurbo Gamer ATX Mid-Tower with 420W Power SupplyEPoX 4G4A Motherboard with Intel 845G ChipsetVisiontek XTASY GeForce4 128MB Ti4600 (Det 29.42 WHQL Drivers)512MB PC2100 DDR RAM40GB Matrox 7200RPM Hard DriveWindows XP Home Edition SP1*No CPU or GPU Overclocking*3dMark2001SE Score: 11298

As Gosta said, the viewpoint in PIC is ahead of the cockpit to give a more realistic view the FS defaults allow. The only way to do it is park a few times with the gate lined up using an external view, set the parking brake, go back to the cockpit and look over your left shoulder to see where the gate is. If you want to see how far forward it is, taxi forward to, say, an intersection and stop abeam the crossing taxiway centreline (or use a runway stop bar) using the side view. Now, go to an external view and see how far back the jet is!Geoff
