Tweak for Pratt-Whitney Sound Mod

Featured Replies

I really like the new PW sounds for PIC, however, the Jet Whine was really irkin' me bad. The pitch envelope seemed somewhat off to me, and the volume was ear-splitting - as if you were sitting over the engine itself. I made some adjustments for a smoother less-intrusive whine:Just replace the relevent sections (use brackets instead of braces, of course):{JET_WHINE.1.02}filename=RXPJ4Bflags=0viewpoint=1rparams=0.0, -0.1, 0.95, 1.3vparams=0.55, 0.0, 0.85, 15.0, 0.95, 5link=JET_WHINE.1.03{JET_WHINE.2.02}filename=RXPJ4Bflags=0viewpoint=1rparams=0.0, -0.1, 0.95, 1.3vparams=0.55, 0.0, 0.85, 15.0, 0.95, 5link=JET_WHINE.2.03Enjoy.J

Okay... I'll make this one reply =)I got the pitch settings from the VARIG 767 videos. Of course, being a video (dvd) they may be a bit off... Aditionally, I hope everyone looked at the JPEG image included in the zip regarding the optimal setting for engine volume! Thanks J for providing this update. I'll have to try it out sometime in the future.Sincerely,Phil Geddes

Change vparams to this to hear less "whine" and more "growl" at high N1:vparams=0.55, 0.0, 0.85, 15.0, 0.95, 3

n/m found it.

I have a question. I listened to the "sample" of the takeoff roll on the website, and I hear awfully a lot of engines noise. My impression is that you would hear mostly wind and only the engines on takeoff roll. Do you really hear that much engines from the flight deck?(I'm asking because I really don't know, not to poke fun at anybody :))

On takeoff engine nose is about the only thing you hear. After t/o, you hear wind for the most part, with maybe a tiny bit of engine noise if the N1 is high or being changed.

I downloaded it and notice that the file names are 752? So is the package more 752-specific?Here's what my settings are, and I use fs2k2 for PIC only so I adjusted it for PIC-specific. If anybody else has tweak for 763 sounds and settings let me know; I'm curious.

Hi all!At the risk of sounding like a complete dolt (wouldn't be the first time, I guess ), where are these new P&W sounds at? I hadn't seen mention of it before.Regards,ScottKJMS

Okay, but I'd like to know, if I use the P/W sound mod (eventhough my PIC is GE :( ), will that give me a pretty good 763 sound replication? because it looks like a 752 sound mod. I love sleeping on longhauls to the sound from the cabin, and I want to get that sound from my PIC :)

Wow! Preston you are really addicted. ;-) :D

Only when I have the time :(
