Where are my texture files???

Featured Replies

Hi All, This should be an easy one for some of you...I have installed PIC into FS2K2 and added patch and latest NAVDATA.When I go to my aircraft folder I have a folder named 767 PIC Wilco Publishing. Inside seems to be all that is needed including the texure folder which is for some reason EMPTY. However, I have the textures in my FS2002 scenery file. Hmm how'd it get over there?I suppose I need to link the two files? Maybe not....??..??If I decide to use a repaint of the PIC model, where should I insert that file? Can I insert if instead of the default while I'm fixing my problem of "no textures"?The only texture that shows in "select a/c" box in FS2K2 is the Wilco a/c. Please help!!!Hope I don't have to reinstall...... uggghhhThanks for your help!!!Regards, Britt

You are correct, the textures file in the PIC767 folder is empty. Thats how Wilco have it setup and is not a problem as you can see that everything shows up for you in game. There is no need to do any "linking", its already done. If you want to "use" some other aircraft textures with PIC I would advise you to go with the Posky Merge files. It will enable you to use any of Posky's 767-300/200 wonderful aircraft with the PIC Flight dynamics and in fact is really the way to go.Hope that this helps you,Best Wishes,Randy Smith

Hi Randy, Thanks alot mate! The only problem I have is that when I go to select a/c mode in FS2k2 I have only the Wilco paint. The others don't show. Based on your reply makes me think to change the aircraft.cfg to make all of the textures show?I hope that makes sense....and thanks for your reply.Best Regards, Britt

Hello again Britt, Can you be a little more clear? When you select an aircraft, are you saying that you don't have any other aircraft at all or do you mean that you have tried to install other aircraft for PIC and those are not in there to choose from? Did you try to MERGE with the Posky file? If so and you don't see any aircraft:1] You did not merge the files correctly OR2] When you are selecting the Posky aircraft that you installed you need to choose first BOEING, then look under "767-300" if you used a 300 series.Best Wishes,Randy Smith

Hi Randy, Thanks for writing! I've installed the PIC first w/patch and update and all... When I go to "select aircraft" in FS, The Wilco aircraft is the only a/c to show in the menu. Wilco livery only. The other liveries are in my scenery folder. Somehow FS isn't recognizing them from that folder. It's probably in the .cfg file.?.? I haven't even started with the POSKies yet. I've done the merge on all my PoskY a/c and they are ok. My problem is getting my 767-300ER defaults to show. The WILCO shoows but not the others. The files are in the scenery file as I indicated earlier.Hope this helps you help me.. he hee Thanks very much..REgards, Britt

So, lets see if I got you right here. You have only the wilco livery aircraft to choose from in the aircraft pulldown menu right? I would REINSTALL PIC and during installation make sure that all the aircraft are checked. Why in the world would you want to use the default aircaft planes with their HUGE frame rate loss? Nonetheless do what I told you, just reinstall PIC, make sure you have the correct updates from Wilco for your Flightsim i.e. FS2000 or FS2002. Best Wishes,Randy

Hi Randy, You got it! I was afraid it would come to a reinstall! Darn!! Oh I don't use the Wilco a/c....As a matter of fact I think I have ...yes I have a COB767-224 from POSKY that I have flown so I know PIC is there and working fine. I just don't know why the texture to their default paints aren't showing up as you pointed out in the graphic above. Thanks very much Randy!REgards, Britt
