Q for PIC Team

Featured Replies

I have a gauge question for the PIC team. I am working on a VSI gauge with TCAS, and I've come to realize that the PIC panel has its own setting for lighting. I believe I need two gauge bitmaps depending on the state of the panel light switch on the overhead. What I would like to know is if there is a way for my gauge to read the state of the panel light switch? It does not seem to use any of the lighting token variables. Is it hidden in another token variable? Is it a named variable? Is it possible for an independent gauge to read this setting? In the .flt save files, I see PIC saving it as "Main panel light=".You can email me at [email protected] if you prefer. Thanks in advance!Lee Hetherington (KBED)

OMG Lee!This just keeps getting better and better... :)best regards,Tero

I'd like to amend my original question to include being able to read the current main panel lighting state. I think there may be 4 levels.I do have some ideas for a workaround, but it would be better if I could read the panel state directly.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

There is no way to read what you want for now,Lee.Maybe in a future SDK ?? ...Best Regards,Laurent Crenier_____________________________767PIC Panel co-designer

Laurent, thank you for the reply.Someone helped me out by pointing out an offset into APS.dll that I can peek at and read the state of panel lighting, and it works! Granted, it is tied to a specific version of APS.dll, but it is better than nothing.Still lots of other things to do, but things are taking shape.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
