December 3, 200223 yr Hello,Does anyone here have any information on the Airbus release?Just curious.....:)Luke
December 3, 200223 yr I emailed wilcopub.com a couple weeks ago and they responded to me via an email stating that it would be the end of December. I can't believe that they wouldn't have this info update on their web page..Definitely SLACK..Regards,
December 3, 200223 yr Thanks for that. It seems strange that after the popularity and undoubted superior quality of PIC that there has not been more interest and comment regarding the Airbus. Indeed, I do not really care what type of aircraft I am flying - I just want the sim to be as good as possible! :)Is the Airbus going to be as ground breaking as PIC, and if so, when is it going to be available!!!Luke
December 4, 200223 yr hi guys,i received a mailing from just flight (www.justflight.com)there a320 pilot in command was set as being available, but i guess that means you can preorder...see ya
December 4, 200223 yr "Indeed, I do not really care what type of aircraft I am flying - I just want the sim to be as good as possible" I think differnt I guess. The airbus {the real one at least} i've be told by a friend who use to fly them has said that there is not all that much to flying one as compared to our good ol 757/767 varitity. It's pretty much all done for you, so to me, I say whats the fun in that? Unless you like everything done for you and you are a real Airbus fan. Maybe they will simulate a tray on the left so you can eat your lunch while she flys you to your destination. Best Wishes, Randy Smith Randy J Smith
December 4, 200223 yr Quite right Randy, the electric Airbuses are designed to be flown mainly through the autoflight systems. Even in manual mode you will get a lot of help, such as bank angle protection, alpha floor limit, auto-trim and so on. But, if Wilco manages to simulate all that the it will defo be worth having a go at. As was seen over the Atlantic, even an electric A330 can be flown in manual mode with no automatics at all, and conduct a dead-stick landing with the only power available being that delivered by the RAT. Die hard Boeing fans would have had you belive that an Airbus would simply fall from the skies following a near-total electrical failure. Alas, that was not so.I for one am very much looking forward to the PIC A320, even if it will mean a very different approach to operating the aircraft than the venerable 767. If nothing else, it should provide for endless hours of frustration and that time honoured expression "What the f* is it doing now" :)So hurry up you PIC fellas, Santa's promised to deliver me a copy for x-mas.
December 5, 200223 yr hello !Well, a tiny element to go again with this "Airbus" debate:Do you remember the first time you drove a power-steering car?And did it really frustrate you and (most important!) did your pleasure of driving decrease ?;) I don't think so,and I personnaly think the same with Airbus:I ve never flown "conventionnal" airliners (hope I can say:yet! ),but the comfort provided with fly-by-wire,auto-trim,domain-protection,etc while flying manually an Airbus is... wonderful !!! I guess flying will always be flying...anyway!then happy flying to yee all!! :-beerchug CatIIIdual (lfpg)
