767 PIC Panel problem

Featured Replies

Hi everyoneI have read about the PIC 767 on here and then decided to give it a whirl, I went down to Radio Shack they had it in the boxed-version there. So I bought it brought it back home, installation went well, got the patch at Wilco's site and the loaded up FS2002 and BANG.My framerates in this panel wont go above 5...PIII 866Mhz256mb-ramgeforce 2 mx 400 64MB... When flying it, extremely unrealistic.. is it expected to do this to frames? Like its 20-40 fps in the Cessna panel.-Shane

If it's in outside view it is normal.Make a search on this forum for 'POSKY merge', there is a way to merge a POSKY 767 GMAX with PIC panel to avoid the drop in frame rate.Best regards,Guillaume

you would expect a fr hit with PIC although in your case it sounds a bit too much. one can't draw real conclusions when comparing it to the default cessna...a better benchmark may be another elaborate 3rd party panel, say DF737 or bill G's erj panel.the FR hit you might expect os similar to the panels I mentioned above.I have a 1.5GHz processor with the rest of the settings the same as yours and i get anywhere between 7 and 20 FPS depending on the scenery complexity and amount of AI.Hope that helpsHA5

On similar hardware, I see pretty close to my lock of 15fps with PIC with POSKY visual model, depending on how high I have my display sliders set. With the Wilco visual model I think I was seeing 5-7fps in external views. I don't remember if it hurt panel views too.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

First thing you need to do is turn off "anti-alias". With your system specs do not run res higher than 1024x768 32bit. Also, just because you can run the default with those Frames don't except these with a quality add-on such as this. I get 25-30 in flight with almost everything maxed out. My other sugesstion is to set the DEFAULT display settings FIRST. Then take one by one up a little till you have a comfortable frame rate. The Posky merge is a MUST if you even wish to use spot view, without it you will have a slide show. If you need help with this I will be happy to point you in the right direction, Regards, Randy Smith

You will find a link also to the MERGE FILES. I do use ICQ not WM and my # 148711379 if you need further assistance.http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID33 Best Wishes, Randy Smith
